Where It Started
My obsession with technology began in the mid‑80s, sitting in my elementary school library staring at Apple and Macintosh computers like they were portals to another world. That curiosity followed me through every computer lab, every operating system, and every major shift in tech. I didn’t just want to use technology — I wanted to understand it.
The Warehouse That Changed Everything
In the late 90s, I volunteered at a small tech company called SMARTCO in Leonardtown, Maryland. We worked out of an old warehouse, salvaging discarded computers and bringing them back to life. That environment taught me the most important lesson of my career:
Technology isn’t intimidating when you break it down, diagnose it methodically, and approach every problem with clarity instead of fear.
That mindset became the foundation of everything I’ve done since.
24+ Years of Real‑World Problem Solving
Over the past two decades, I’ve built deep experience across diagnostics, troubleshooting, networking, system upgrades, and hands‑on IT support. But the most valuable thing I’ve learned is this:
Most people don’t need a technician — they need someone who can teach them how to think like one.
Why KTaylorTech Exists
KTaylorTech was built for aspiring tech professionals — people pursuing a long‑term goal or pivoting into a new career — who need clear, accessible, real‑world guidance. My mission is simple:
Remove the gatekeeping.
Remove the confusion.
Give people the tools to succeed.
I focus on practical education, exam preparation, and technician‑grade clarity because the tech industry grows stronger when more people understand it deeply.
How I Stay Sharp
Technology moves fast, and staying relevant requires constant learning. I stay current through hands‑on experimentation, tech communities, newsletters, blogs, and continuous study. In tech, the moment you stop learning is the moment you fall behind — and I refuse to let that happen.
Where I’m Headed
I’m actively building my path into cybersecurity — one of the most critical and rapidly evolving areas in tech. I’m taking the same journey I guide others through, on purpose. I don’t teach anything I’m not willing to do myself.
What This Means for You
